“If we fail to repeal and replace Obamacare in this next Congress, we will experience the largest tax increase in American history. Some years from now, it will be etched in the minds of every American that the first half of the 20th century was the most prosperous period in our nation’s history. That period was the New Deal period, with Franklin Roosevelt and his Democrats in power. And that prosperity, in large part, was due to the actions of their successors, the Republican Party.
“Yet, when we look to the future and look to our children and our grandchildren, we must understand that this will be the first half of the 20th century where the top income tax bracket could be as high as 50 percent,” he said.
Lucia said that if GOP legislators don’t get Obamacare’s prices under control, “they’ll collapse the economy and then be looking for a handout from their children and grandchildren.”
Lucia also said the U.S. now has what he called “an uncontrolled border and an uncontrolled border is a collapse scenario.”
